FBI Director James Comey!

Congratulations, Director Comey. Your statements that Apple and Google putting more security into their operating systems is enabling criminals and terrorists to do dirty deeds to us have won the soon-to-be-coveted Idiot of the Week Award. We’re not sure what tipped the vote in your favor. Maybe it’s your call for companies to alienate their customers and sales around the world further by just leaving people’s phones and other devices wide open to your prying eyes. Or perhaps it’s the fact you don’t seem to realize law enforcement has certain requirements under the United States Constitution and other laws to go through proper channels to get evidence needed. Or maybe it was your “Think of the Children” moment: “I’d hate to have people look at me and say, ‘Well how come you can’t save this kid,’ ‘how come you can’t do this thing.'” Because, you know, no one ever saved children from kidnappers before cell phones were a thing.
