Q: Why Does Sandy Cheeks Risk Living At The Bottom Of The Sea?

A: Why are you being so judgmental? Plenty of people live in dangerous locations. Look at Japan with its earthquakes, Oklahoma USA with its tornadoes, or Australia and its dropbears. These and other locations all have their risks, but people still live there. In fact, Sandy Cheeks is probably safer than anyone in these drier areas. Her dive suit and environmental bubble are tested hardware with known structural properties. Earthquakes, tornadoes, and dropbears are mostly unpredictable. Sandy knows what she needs to do in order to survive in her chosen environment and she understands the limits of her equipment. People on the surface also tend to know what they need to do in order to live through their environmental threats, but they don’t have the luxury of knowing the limits of those dangers. You ask why Sandy Cheeks is risking living at the bottom of the sea? I wonder why we continue to live in such wild and randomly dangerous lands. Although, I suspect we suffer the dangers just so we can feel badass when visitors start to freak out and we get to calmly say, “This is a mild one. You’ll get used to it after a while.”
