I’ve been to Lawton, Oklahoma. There isn’t much to do there. So it doesn’t surprise me that Kristi Rhines thought it would be great to head out to the local El Chico Mexican restaurant, eat and drink, and then try to take off without paying. She claimed her husband would arrive soon and pay, but when pressed she must have panicked because she said her husband was Jesus Christ.
Things just went downhill after that when she babbled that she truly was married to Jesus Christ but didn’t have a marriage license. I guess she didn’t realize Oklahoma did away with common law marriage a while ago, so having no license is another big no-no.
With that many strikes against her, the police were called. She was carried off to jail on a fraud complaint. Original story is here.
