A: Well, first, you should be aware that due to the inefficient design of the human brain and physiology we need a certain amount of mental and physical “downtime” to remain sane and functional. But not for much longer!
Researchers, such as myself, are working diligently to overcome the poorly designed human machine. Some are working with stem cells, some with behavioral engineering, but I prefer pharmaceuticals. I believe that plants and the internal organs of tiny little animals hold the key to improving our limited, messed up lives. Did you know that there are people with little to no formal education who have figured out how to use certain plants to put other people into a mindless, zombie-like state? That is the power of pharmaceuticals!
I am working on several different research projects of my own at the moment and one of them happens to be a pill that eliminates the need for sleep altogether. It isn’t quite perfected yet. At the moment the subjects continue to function without rest for extended periods of time but have reported being able to look through space into different universes that are similar to our own, except everything has a magenta tint. I have sent some of these pills to colleagues who are researching the existence of alternate realities. The only notes I have received so far indicate that it is some “really good stuff, man.”
Until I, or another researcher, have perfected a method of overcoming this weakness in our systems I am afraid you will need to continue your struggle to get more sleep, possibly by using twenty minute “cat naps.” Good luck, and try to avoid drive or operate heavy machinery.
