Q: Why is it important to have empathy?

A: Some people claim it is important for us to have empathy so that we can understand what someone else is feeling, rather than just being sympathetic. With empathy we can evaluate how our actions will impact those around us and adjust those actions accordingly so we cause the least amount of discomfort or pain.

Hogwash! Most of the truly successful people of this world have shown a marked lack of empathy. They didn’t consider the consequences of their actions. Did people get hurt or even killed in a few cases? Of course they did. But the world was changed and all because these highly intelligent people didn’t give a fig about someone’s hurt feelings or health!

Do you want to be a highly successful person that changes the world? Then forget about empathy. A callous disregard for your fellow humans will serve them better in the long run. It may cause them some discomfort now, but once you have improved the overall human condition they will reap the benefits of your lack of empathy.

Do you think Oppenheimer was considering the awful effects of his work with the military? Did a lot of people suffer? We know the answer to that. A bunch of people died and the world lived in terror of an atomic war for quite some time. But, we have harnessed that fear to stave off another world war. Not to mention the nuclear power plants that came into being because of that same research. If Oppenheimer had felt the slightest bit of empathy during that whole world-changing time in history just imagine the world we would be living in today.

I am not saying everyone can afford to do away with empathy. The world would be a lawless wasteland if that were to happen. I am just saying that maybe the most intelligent of us should do whatever it takes to remove the impediments blocking our full potential.

To this end I have created a series of medications that will, over a 6 week period, remove all hints of empathy from a human subject. At the moment, it seems to also remove the ability to feel any emotion at all, as well as the ability to recognize the body’s need for rest. Most subjects, so far, have worked 3 to 4 days at a time before passing out at their work stations. I have had some inquiries of serious interest from some factories in countries with less than rigid governmental oversight.

If you feel you have the ability to change the world then send me a message through the Contact page or talk to another medical researcher. Do not attempt to medicate yourself in order to suppress your empathy. Not only would that be highly illegal in most countries, but you risk damaging your brain. You need that brain to make the world a better place. Of course, if you aren’t likely to be changing the world, then by all means try to be empathetic. Go out, make friends, and enjoy the fruits of our labors.
